It described pilates, developed by Joseph Pilates, as a structured exercise focusing on stretching, controlled movements and breathing techniques to improve strength, balance and overall body function.
The exercise is also known to offer benefits such as muscle strengthening, improved posture, relief from back pain and enhanced focus, while supporting weight management.
The mufti emphasised that Islam encourages activities promoting health and well-being, but Muslims must avoid elements that contradict syariah, including rituals or chants, while maintaining modesty and proper boundaries.
