MCMC said 22 individuals from various locations nationwide have been called to have their statements recorded to assist in the investigations.

It added that six investigation papers have been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for review and further action.

The investigations are being conducted under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588), which carries a maximum fine of RM500,000 or imprisonment of up to two years, or both, upon conviction.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
MCMC stressed it views seriously any misuse of social and digital media platforms to mislead the public and reminded users to act responsibly and refrain from sharing content that could jeopardise public harmony and order.
