KOTA KINABALU: The BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games 2026 will bringing together over 3,000 athletes and officials from Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia to promote regional unity and youth empowerment in November.
Sabah Minister of Youth, Sports Development and Creative Economy Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan said the Games go beyond competition, serving as a platform to build friendships and strengthen cross-border cooperation.

Athletes under 21 are competing in nine sports, including athletics, swimming, badminton, sepak takraw and e-sports.
Organising chairman Datuk Mansur Asun said Sabah is honoured to host the event, highlighting its role in developing youth leadership, discipline and identity while strengthening regional ties.
Events are being held across Kota Kinabalu, including the Likas Sports Complex and Likas Aquatic Centre, with organisers hoping the Games will leave a lasting impact on participants and further strengthen regional cooperation.
