ALOR GAJAH: A 51-year-old man died after he was believed to have been assaulted by members of the public following allegations of indecent exposure on Sunday night,

The married man was found dead in front of a kindergarten in Jasin Bestari, Jasin, at around 7.26pm.
Melaka police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said they received a report regarding the incident at about 9pm.
Preliminary investigations indicated the man had allegedly exposed himself in the parking area of a supermarket before being chased by members of the public.
He was reportedly caught and assaulted by two men but managed to flee into a bushy area and crossed a river, where others responding to calls for help restrained him.
The man was later confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel, and his body was sent to Jasin Hospital’s forensics unit for a post-mortem examination.
Police have arrested seven individuals, aged between 15 and their 50s, including a Pakistani national, who have been remanded for seven days to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
