Shortage of parking coupons: Sandakan Council urged to act

SANDAKAN: The Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) is urged to act immediately to resolve the shortage of 25-sen and 50-sen parking coupons.

Sandakan Warisan Deputy Chief Alex Wong said the shortage of the coupons has been going on for several months.

“The 25-sen and 50-sen parking coupons have been out of stock for several months now.

“This has caused car owners and users to be concerned that they may be fined by MPS for not placing the parking coupons,” he added.

Wong said many car owners have complained that they have had to buy and use the RM2 parking coupons even when they are only conducting business in town for less than an hour. 

“This has caused frustration among users as they have to bear additional financial burden,” he said. 

He also said MPS has not yet explained or officially announced the issue of the shortage of parking coupons or clarified whether car owners need to place parking coupons during this period.
