Cops acknowledge media’s role

KENINGAU: Six members of the media were among 25 recipients of certificates of appreciation during the 217th Police Day celebration.
Two of them are from the Daily Express, Mohd Khairy Abdullah and Marutin Ansiung, one from the Borneo Digest, Rosanna Edeza, and three from Radio Televisyen Malaysia.

Keningau District Police Chief Supt Yampil Garai gave the certificates at a ceremony held at the Keningau Police Headquarters’ Sri Keningau Hall, which was witnessed by senior police officers.
Yampil acknowledged the media’s noble role and commitment towards raising and delivering a positive public perception of the police force.
“I hope cooperation and friendship with the media continue,” he said, thanking members of the media in the interior for their dedication to channelling insightful sources of information about the police.
