Sabah Karate Association sending 11-member team

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Karate Association (SKA) are represented by 11 athletes at the 42nd Makaf National Senior Karate Championship to be held at the Bukit Kiara National Sport Complex starting today (Wednesday).

No target was set by SKA but its secretary general Julian Chin hoped the athletes will deliver their best  in the six-day competition.

At the same meet held in Melaka last year, the team clinched third spot with three golds, one silver and eight bronzes.

The contingent left for Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday and is led by team manager Iskandar Damis with Danny Fredoline, Farlin Frederick and Clevelence Carlos as coaches.

The team members are Mohd Haznil Henry (male individual kata), Mohd Zaidan Zainal (male kumite -75kg), Eldrich Aaron A Jubili (male kumite -84kg), Muhd Aiman Azlan (male kumite +84kg), Lovelly Anne Roberth (female individual kata), Nathalia Sherwinnie Anak Yampil (female individual kata), Prisca Easter Philip (female kumite -68kg), Mohd Azhad Haziq Henry (male individual kata), Alysheron Maunsiong (female kumite -50kg), Amirah Syahirah Azlan (female kumite -68kg) and Leong Jia Chii (female kumite -68kg).
