Sasa sending 53-member contingent
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Aquatic Sports Association (Sasa) will be represented by a 53-member squad in the 59th Milo/MAS Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championships 2024 to be held  at the National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil starting today (Thursday) until Sunday (April 28).

The team is led by team manager Emily Chew with coaches Elvin Chia, Benjamin Lee, Sean Goh, Tie Mee Kiong and Cynthia Liew while the swimmers are Alden Wilbern Liew Joon, Angelo Vava Fred, Arief Shafiy Ronisafihin, Arish Amni Ronisafihin, Atkinson Edbert Thien, Daniel Tong Khou Khou Abdullah, Emmanuel Loh Yung Ming, Federer Liew Yi, Gerard Tsen Xiang Zhi, Ignacio Wong Hao Zhe, Isaac Jeremiah Ho Tsun Lung, Jarrel Joibi, Jayden Jimmy Fabian, Jeff Lo Wei Zhe, Jeremy Ng Chong Wei, Joshua Ng Chong Jian, Kelvin Hon Lok Chou, Lennox Joibi, Liam Zephaniah Chin, Lim Jia He, Lim Jia Li, Loo Yie An, Mike Lee Zi Yao, Muhammad Iqram Muhammad Redzuan, Ng Ze Heng, Quek Kiing Kang, Quek Kiing Shing, Ryan Lee Zi Qian, Samuel Ng Chong Cheng, Scott Lee Tsun An, Shairul Aiman Jefry, Shane Chong Kian Heuang, Tanner Joibi, Umar Rayyan Abdullah, Voon Song Heng, Yong Leong Onn, Alexis Lee Yen Ling, Beverly Lai Mei Xi, Careyna Bulawan Joseph, Chloe Lim Jia Yee, Chu Xin Ying, Chua Yi Ern, Dayang Sari Abdullah, Denise Koshy, Hannah Wong Ya Ting, Laura Lee Yen Nie, Lee Xue Wen, Lovell Wong Hsiao Thang, Rachael Sabreena Roland Lumbising, Sharon Voon Xue Ru, Sunita Jessica Tampi, Tiara Batrisya Mohd. Razali, and Valarie Yap Su Bing.

Sasa president Daniel Lee (pic) in a statement released on Tuesday also said another team with seven divers will be taking part in the National Diving Competition at the Larkin Aquatic Centre in Johor from April 27-28.

According to him, the team consisting of senior and junior divers is led by Nurfazriyanti Jali as coach and the athletes are Adrian Norman Ligadu Abdullah, Ayden Aivan Adilius, Lev Mackenzie Leopold, Shiloh Thaddeus Lang, Dea Butiza Haidie, Hannabelle Ho Yang Yuan and Iris Isabel Lee Ivan.

He wished both teams all the best and hopes they will deliver their best in the competition.

“Both championships are great avenues for our athletes to gain exposure and to compete against the best.

“I am excited to know our teams’ performance and progress in the competition, and I am sure our athletes will give their very best,” he said.

He also thanked the Youth and Sports Ministry, Sabah Sports Council and all those who have given their support.
