Kota Kinabalu: Jetama Sdn Bhd has replaced Sawit Kinabalu as the official main sponsor of Sabah FC in the 2024-25 season.

In addition, the water concession company will also be supplying drinking water to Sabah FC throughout their campaign in the new season.

Sabah Football Association (Safa) president Datuk Shahelmey Yahya who attended the signing ceremony on Wednesday was happy with the involvement of Jetama.

“We greatly appreciate the sponsorship provided by Jetama Sdn Bhd to the Sabah FC team this season.

“Apart from the financial sponsorship, another subsidiary of Jetama, Jetama Water, also signed an agreement to supply drinking water to Sabah FC throughout this season,” he said.

He also hoped more government-related companies (GLCs) would come forward to support the development of football in the State.

“The donation from them will be able to obtain some tax relief for the company as an effort in implementing their corporate social responsibility (CSR),” he added.

Jetama Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Naim Uddang on the other hand, said the decision to sponsor Sabah FC this season was part of a strategic initiative to strengthen the company’s brand.

“We realise that supporting local sports not only benefits the sports community as a whole, but also strengthens the company’s position as a brand that is sensitive to community and community development.

“This is also a very suitable time to promote one of our products which is ‘Bottle/Drinking Water’ which will be distributed for commercial purposes in the market soon at a more competitive price,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sabah FC director Mohd Joh Wid announced that the Sabah FC jersey in collaboration with Lotto Malaysia will be officially launched on May 9.

He said they are in the final stages of preparation for the virtual launch later and assured that they are taking into account the design, quality and fabric of the brand that suits the weather and the taste of Sabah FC supporters and fans.

He added that further announcement of sponsorship for Sabah FC from other private companies will be made from time to time.

He said they always welcome private companies, especially GLCs, to come forward to help the Sabah FC team to ease their operation cost.

Also present at the signing ceremony were Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Fairuz Renddan and chairman of Jetama Sdn Bhd Datuk Yussof Abd Manan.
