Rhinos begin tour with loss

Kota Kinabalu: Nine-man Sabah Rhinos went down 1-5 to Global FC in their first pre-season friendly in the Philippines on Tuesday.Jelius Ating's boys started well to take the lead in the fourth minute through South Korean import Heo Jae-Nyeong.

It wasn't until the 29th minute that the hosts managed to find the equaliser through their Spanish import Rufo Sanchez, and before the half time whistle, Sabah were down to 10 men with the sending off of Randy Baruh.

Curt Dizon then put his team ahead in the 67th minute followed by another setback for Sabah when Umareng Bacok was shown the red card as well.

It went from bad to worse for Jelius when Mafry Balang put the ball into his own net in the 84th minute and Sanchez then completed his hat-trick with two more goals in injury time.

Sabah will next play Kaya FC on Thursday (January 25).
