Kota Kinabalu: Universiti Cyberjaya will offer RM2.5 million worth of education scholarships specifically for students from Sabah studying at the institution.
Its Pro-Chancellor,Tan Sri Dr Palaniappan A/L Ramanathan Chettiar, said the scholarship is part of the university’s corporate social responsibility initiative.
“Today, we paid a courtesy call on the Sabah Head of State, Tun Musa Aman, and the university will introduce an education scholarship worth RM2.5 million in his name.
“In addition, this scholarship will provide opportunities for students in the state to gain access to quality education.
“Through this initiative, we aim to give back to the community, particularly to deserving students and those from underprivileged families,” he said after paying a courtesy call on Tun Musa at Istana Seri Kinabalu on Monday.
He added that the university will continue contributing to the state, not only in the education sector but also in other areas such as solar energy projects.
Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu currently houses 2,300 students and offers certificate, foundation and diploma programmes in various fields, including science, business, and health.
Also present during the visit were the Senior Director of the Recruitment Division, Kalimuthu Thumbasamy, and the Chief Executive Officer of Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu, Dr Awang Faisal Assyifa Ag Rahim.
