TAMBUNAN: Two retired Headmasters, Halina John Jinuli and Geoffrey Joseph @ Chong Lip Kok, were selected as recipients of the district level Teacher Figure Award and the Educational Leadership Figure Award respectively held at an open hall here.
A total of 74 educators received the Excellent Service Award (APC), 38 received the School Management Appreciation Award (MAPenS) and 32 received the Jasamu Dikenang certificate of appreciation at the ceremony.
Deputy Chief Minister 1 and Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry, Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey Kitingan presented all awards to the recipients.
In his speech at the ceremony, he said that this recognition is a symbol of integrity, excellence and leadership that should be used as an inspiration to other educators.
“I hope that the culture of excellent work, integrity and dedication continues to be maintained to ensure that education in this district develops in line with the country’s desire to produce a knowledgeable, moral and competitive generation,” he said.
Jeffrey, who is also the Keningau Member of Parliament described this ceremony as not just a celebration of achievements, but also a symbol of continued commitment in building a more excellent future for education in Tambunan.
He said that today is not only to celebrate success and excellence, but also to remember the services of retirees who have completed their service with full dedication.
“The contribution of education workers is a pillar of educational achievements in this district,” said the Tambunan State Assemblyman.
Jeffrey also expressed his appreciation to all education workers for their dedication, sacrifice and contributions in developing the education sector in this district.
“Congratulations to all award recipients, sincere appreciation to the retirees, and well done to the Teacher Figure and Leadership Figure. May you continue to be blessed with good health, happiness with your family, and success in life,” he said.
The ceremony was also graced with various performances including choir performances, traditional dances, orchestras and many more.
Also present at the ceremony were the District Education Officer, Dr Haison Jahudin, District Officer, Sobitun Makajil, education officers and teachers.
