Kota Kinabalu: Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk Julita Majungki (
pic) said ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services remains the priority amid concerns over the shortage of medical officers at Lahad Datu Hospital.
She said she had been informed that the Sabah Health Department (JKNS) is taking immediate measures to ensure critical hospital services continue without compromising patient safety and wellbeing.

Julita said efforts are focused on minimising disruptions to healthcare services, particularly for patients requiring emergency treatment and intensive care.
She said healthcare workforce issues must be viewed comprehensively as they involve both the placement of officers and the retention of experienced personnel at facilities facing high service demands.
Julita said the State Government will continue working closely with the Health Ministry and JKNS to ensure healthcare service needs in Sabah, particularly on the East Coast, receive the necessary attention and are strengthened over time.
