Kota Kinabalu: Activist-cum-surgeon Dr Chong Eng Leong said Tuaran MP Datuk Seri Madius Tangau should seize the chance to follow up on the issue of Filipino refugees in Sabah rather than repeating previous parliamentary inquiries on the subject.
“During the recent Dewan Rakyat session, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa reiterated that the number of known Filipino refugees in Sabah stands at 136,055.

“This figure is the same as the one quoted by the then Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in 2020,” said Dr Chong in a statement, Thursday.
He said the repetition of this figure came in response to a question posed by the Tuaran MP during the recent Parliament sitting.
