RM200,000 home appliances for Bongawan fire victims

BONGAWAN: The Government has allocated RM200,000 aid for home appliances to be distributed to fire victims in Kg Laut Bongawan.
Membakut District Officer, Ibrahim Terki, said the aid would be distributed soon and thanked various parties for donating to the victims.

“The government has given assistance worth RM200,000 and we will distribute the home appliances to every family.
“They will be delivered before Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
“From time to time, apart from government aid, many parties also chip in to help the victims,” he said.
“For the long term, the Membakut District Office will take the initiative to level the area of the site where fire occurred and allocate lots to them,” he said after accompanying the wife of the Head of State Puan Norlidah RM Jasni who presented the Yayasan Nur Jauhar (YNJ) donations to the fire victims on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the TYT’s Private Secretary Datuk Abinan Asli hoped the donations given by the foundation could ease the burden of the victims especially preparations for Aidilfitri.
“This morning the Nur Jauhar Foundation led by Toh Puan Norlidah visited Kg Laut Bongawan after the 19 houses were destroyed on February 29. Cash donations and goods were handed to the 29 household heads (KIR).
