KENINGAU: The Sabah Agriculture Department is targeting to produce 3,000 metric tons of TR8 variety paddy saplings to meet the needs of 24,033 hectares of paddy in Sabah under the department’s Satellite Paddy Sapling Scheme Program.

Its Director Jifrin Mohamad said such target would help solve the issue of lack of paddy sapling supply in the State.
ADVERTISEMENT “Some districts such as Kota Marudu, Papar and Tenom have been set as among the Paddy Sapling Satellite Scheme while other districts like Tuaran have programs that have the same concept and implementation,” he said, after officiating a harvesting programme in Kg Lambanga near here.
