SANDAKAN: The Sessions Court, Monday, acquitted and discharged four friends from molesting and raping a 15-year-old girl in 2018.
Judge Zaini Fishir @ Fisal, made the decision after considering the totality of evidence adduced where he ruled that it was unsafe to call the four accused to enter their defence.

The incident allegedly occurred on Aug 11, 2018 at a pondok in a housing park.
All of the accused were 17 years old at that time and were charged in the Sessions Court in March 2022.
The first accused, Muhammad Agha Syami Amran, was charged under Section 377B of the Penal Code while the second accused, Irfan Dzul Haikal Redin, was charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Child Act.
As for the third accused, Mohd Syafi Mazlan, he was charged under Section 376(2)(d) Penal Code read together with Section 511 of Penal Code and Section 14(a) Sexual Offences Against Child Act.

The fourth accused, Mohd Irfan Haleq Sukartan, was charged under Section 376(2)(d) of a Penal Code read together with Section 511 of the Penal Code.
Deputy Public Prosecutor, Lim Sze Chuan, prosecuted and eight witnesses testified during the prosecuting stage.

The four accused were represented by lawyers, Mohamad Syazwan Shah Mohamad Ali and Nigel Neong Kaning.
