LAHAD DATU: Four individuals lodge police reports after being victims of fake accident frauds.
One of the victims, Alex Lim,76, said on Jan 25, a motorcyclist came to him when he stopped his vehicle behind a shop in Taman Fajar.

The motorcyclist claimed that the victim had hit his motorcycle. However, the victim did not hit him and both vehicles were in good condition.
“The man took a photo of my driving licence and I did the same. He asked me to pay.
“I suspect that he tried to scam me, so I told him to go to the Police Station together to lodge a report but he told me that he wanted to go to the nearest motorcycle shop to ask for spare part price,” he said.
According to Alex, he waited for a long time in the area so that they could go to the police station together but the man never returned.

He also went to the nearest motorcycle shop and the man was not in the shop.
Alex said, he discovered later that some friends in Lahad Datu were also involved in similar incident.

“They also met the same person, where he asked for money from them.
“Therefore, I lodged a police report today (Tuesday) as a record of attempted fraud and for personal safety as my driver’s licence has personal details,” he said.
