Kinabalu Golf Club emerge overall winners

SANDAKAN: Kinabalu Golf Club emerged the overall winners at the Triangular Meet 2023 held at Sandakan Golf & Country Club, here recently. 

The winning team collected 47 points while the hosts Sandakan Golf & Country Club obtained 45.5 points to take second place with Tawau Golf Club third on 27.5 points. 

Each year, the Triangular Golf Meet takes place involving all three clubs namely Tawau Golf Club, Sandakan Golf & Country Club and Kinabalu Golf Club. 

The responsibility of hosting the event alternates annually among these clubs. 

This Triangular Meet started in the late 70s where each club selects 40 players to play against other clubs. 

The meets aim to foster a sense of unity among the participating players. 

By coming together to compete in a friendly and sportsmanlike manner, it promotes a sense of togetherness and collaboration.

Also present were Sandakan Golf & Country Club president Henry Chu Vun Yen, Kinabalu Golf Club president Datuk Joannes Solidau and Tawau Golf Club president Andy Sia Kee Huong.
