Rafizi wins big in Pensiangan

Kota Kinabalu: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Vice-President Mohd Rafizi Ramli won big over Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali in the tussle for the PKR deputy president's post in the re-election of the party for the Pensiangan division Sunday.The unofficial results released by the Pengsiangan PKR division Polling Centre chief supervisor Suraya Muizzudin saw Mohd Rafizi winning 2,388 votes, compared to Azmin who received 262 votes.The PKR re-election process for the division, which used the e-vote system beginning 9am and ending at 4pm, went smoothly and peacefully.

A total of 5,865 out of 11,000 PKR members of the Pensiangan division discharged their responsibility in the re-election process.The Pensiangan division re-election also saw Raymond Ahuar defending the division chief's post in a three-cornered competition by receiving 3,126 votes.Raymond beat his two challengers, Saleh Benidect who won 337 votes and John Ingkoi (zero vote).Meanwhile, in TAWAU, although the vote counting process was over, it was understood that PKR re-election results for the division would not be announced on Sunday.

Tawau and Pensiangan were among the three PKR divisions in Sabah which held the re-election process after the election results on Nov 3 and 4 were postponed.Another PKR division, Keningau, had conducted its re-election process on Saturday.

The unofficial decision on the PKR re-election for the Keningau division also saw Mohd Rafizi leading Azmin, who was the incumbent, with a three-vote advantage.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
