RM42,000 smuggled liquor seized in Tawau

Tawau: A total of 650 boxes of contraband liquor worth about RM42,120 were seized by the marine police at the Km 7 Kalabakan roundabout, at about 4.35am, Wednesday. Sabah Marine Police Commander ACP Mohammad Madun said the team led by ASP Abd Aziz Abu Hashim also detained two locals, aged 22 and 26, for investigations. According to him, the seizure was made when the team stopped a lorry for inspection, adding that the goods were believed to be for the Tawau market.
