KUNAK: Two members of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) sustained injuries after being shot in Kunak waters at 8.40am on Sunday.
“The duo were part of a six-man crew on Ops Khas Pagar Laut duty,” said Lahad Datu Maritime Zone Director Dr Suzanna Razali Chan.

The injured officers were identified as Petty Officer Zainal Abas Komel, 45, who had eye injuries and Laskar Kanan Prayrie De Cuella Jimin, 35, who suffered hand injuries from shrapnel.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the enforcement team approached a boat for inspection about 0.2 nautical miles east of Kg Pangi Kunak when four suspects on board fired four shots at them.
