Sandakan residents happy with Aidilfitri Rahmah Sales

SANDAKAN: The Rahmah Sales programme at the MU Supermarket here Saturday has given satisfaction and cheer to the surrounding residents because they can buy essential items such as chicken and meat, at lower prices, for consumption in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
When met by Bernama, the average shopper hoped for the sales programme to be implemented regularly at all supermarkets.

Housewife Rosya Mursi, 45, said the government’s initiative to hold the sales programmes in collaboration with supermarkets today helps relief the people’s burden due to the increased prices of goods. It is also appropriate as Muslims prepare to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
“I am truly grateful for this Rahmah Sales programme, which coincides with payday. I bought chicken at a very reasonable price compared to the market price,” she said.
“It was not only chicken that was sold at lower prices but also meat and other foodstuff such as ‘Secukup Rasa’ seasoning which had a RM2 difference from the original price,” she said.
Security guard Rosman Yusop, 52, took the opportunity to buy the Allana brand of meat at a low price of RM14 compared to the original price of RM17.90.

“I saw many daily necessities being sold at cheaper prices, for example, the Daia fabric softener, which usually sells at over RM6, was going for RM5,” he said.
