Kota Kinabalu: A geologist with a government-linked company was fined RM32,000 on Thursday on four counts of transporting gold concentrates residue to be traded at a gold shop in Pahang without a valid Mineral Transport Licence.
Edwin James, 36, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles to committing the offences at Inanam Express Bus Station, here, between 2020 and 2022 to be traded at Kedai Emas Sri Hawa, Raub, Pahang.

Edwin was ordered to pay a fine of RM8,000 or 18 months jail on each charge under Regulation 6 (1(c) of the Mineral Development (Licensing) Regulations 2016.
