Head of BBP Ranau Station, PPgB Ridwan Bin Mohd Taib, said the incident happened in front of SK Lohan Ranau 1 junction, at about 2.20pm.

“The call was received through the MERS999 line at 2.27pm and a group of 8 firemen led by the Operations Commander, PBK II Wasli Saupin rushed to the location.

“Arriving at the scene located 9km from the station, we found a house and a private permanent workshop were 100 per cent burnt.

According to Ridwan, no victims were involved.

“An inspection was carried out to ensure there was no other danger, and the operation ended at 4.30pm,” he said.

The public should be more cautious about fire especially during the hot spell, he reiterated.
