Sipitang bridge needs repair

SIPITANG: Residents here want the Public Works Department to repair the wooden bridge (pic) that connects Kg Mendulong and Sipitang.
Former Sindumin Community Development Leader Unit Sani Miasin said the bridge is dilapidated and in desperate need of repair.

He said the bridge is a crucial link that connects residents from the village to town, and there is no alternative.
“The planks are damaged and can be very dangerous, especially for motorcyclists at night,” he added.
He said the bridge is also important to those travelling to Long Pasia.
The bridge is also highly significant for anyone who wants to travel to Long Pasia and other villages; if the bridge cannot be crossed, there are no other alternative routes.

“The bridge is also used by farmers from Long Pasia to Mendulong to market their produce,” he said.
Long Pasia is also a tourism site and facilities like the bridge should be fixed as soon as possible so that residents and tourists do not feel worried when crossing.
