Parking bays at the hospital occupied by doctors.
Kota Kinabalu: Members of the public voiced concern over the current parking situation at Queen Elizabeth Hospital 2, suggesting that the parking bays at the hospital be opened for public use.
They argue that the parking bays are used by doctors who park there for 12 hours, leaving members of the public with no choice but to park elsewhere.

“Currently, the parking bays near the hospital are used by doctors, leaving limited parking spaces for patients and visitors,” they said.
“In light of this, we suggest that doctors park at the adjacent community hall, where there are ample parking spaces available.”
They also suggested that a designated shuttle service be provided to transport doctors to and fro the hospital to the community hall parking space.
“This would allow doctors who are on duty for long hours to park at the community hall’s parking bay without inconvenience.”

They also emphasised the importance of opening the parking spaces near the hospital for public use, especially since many of them (members of the public) are either patients themselves or are there to visit their family members who are warded at the hospital.
“We believe that this move would not only ease parking congestion but also improve accessibility to the hospital for those in need of medical care.”
