PUTATAN: Putatan MP Datuk Shahelmey Yahya said an increasing number of non-Chinese parents here are sending their children to Chinese school.
He said this scenario showed awareness among the Bumiputera on the importance of mastering languages other than Malay and English.

“This is a very good development because when our people can master more than three languages and communicate well with each other, this will could certainly deepen unity among the multi-ethnic society.”
He said this in conjunction with the Chap Goh Meh festival jointly organised by the Putatan Chinese Community Culture and Arts Association and Pusat Khidmat Rakyat Putatan at Dataran Domoi, here, recently.
