TAWAU: Kukusan Assemblywoman Rina Jainal urged every citizen to refrain from inciting each other, and instead continue to support the Government for the sake of Sabah’s political stability.

“As Malaysian citizens, we must maintain the unity of the people regardless of race and religion. If you want economic stability, the political atmosphere also needs to be stable,” she said.

She added that the difference should not be an obstacle for every community to live peacefully, but rather make that uniqueness a recipe for harmony and be able to celebrate various festivals together.

Rina, who is also the Political Secretary to the Finance Minister, was speaking at a three-in-one Christmas 2023, New Year 2024 and Chinese New Year celebration held at the Taman Ambar Park Basketball Court Open Shed here Sunday night.

Meanwhile, Rina said the community facilities at Ambar Park in Jalan Kuhara, here, would continue to be given attention.

She said Ambar Park is one of the oldest residential parks in the district and making it special was that the residents are made up of various races and religions, yet, living peacefully.

“Certainly there are many facilities that we will give priority at this residential park.

“We also need to ensure that the river nearby is always clean, orderly and maintained continuously and, at the same time, prevent it from flooding,” she said.

Rina said the three festivals jointly celebrated for the first time at the open space, built using her Assemblywoman’s Fund last year, was very historic for the residents of the park.

“The presence of many residents from various races and religious backgrounds clearly shows that they are in dire need of this kind of facility.

It may not be a perfect hall, but the roofed hall makes it easier for residents to do various activities,” she said.
