60 take part in junior golf tourney

Kota Kinabalu: A total of 60 players took part in the year-end 6th SGA Junior Golf tournament held at the Likas Golf Driving Range & 9-Holes Golf Course late last month.
The one-day competition organised by Sabah Golf Association (SGA) and Sabah Sports Council was opened to players aged 12 and below.

The category A boys’ title went to Khayr Akhtar Ummar Arif and in second place was Sheldon Noah followed by Aaron Soh Heng Lit.
The girls’ A title was won by Nur Allyssa Sofea with Sharifah The Khaliishah and Alyssa Chu in second and third place respectively.
In the B category, Muhd Yahya Ummar Ariff took the boys’ title and in second place was Abner Lee Jin Tao with Sam Steve Steven Welfried in third while Hana Sofia Hazrel came top among the girls followed by Nur Aqeela Syuhada Razali and Aleesya Jius.
The top three winners in category C for the boys were Malden Noah Harun, Adeeb Aqlan Jius and Muhd Qhairil Nadzhar while Suvin Park, Sheyenne Yu Yi Yun and Nurqailysha Edrine Nadzhar finished in the top three position for the girls.

In the boys’ D category, Adib Zakwan Mohd Zain took the title with Xander Kong and Harish Haitollah coming in second and third place.
Assistant Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Fairuz Renddan, who presented the prizes at the closing ceremony, also donated RM3,000 to the tournament as well as sponsoring a junior golf set to Muhd Qhairil Nadzhar.’
