Sabah lass bags bronze

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s Miasara Adawiyah Saiful finished third in the Under-12 category of the SportExcel Milo NSC MTBC Tenpin Bowling Grand Final held at Sunway Megalanes Sunway Pyramid, Selangor.

The 12-year-old SK St Agnes student, who made it to the stepladder semi-final after downing 2004 pins over two days of competition, fell behind eventual winner Anatachia Gadding and losing finalist Nurul Iman and had to settle for the bronze medal.

Fellow teammate Nuraleeya Syakira Awg Ali, who finished in sixth place, was only short of 78 points to qualify for a place in the semi-final.

The Sabah team was represented by 10 players and Sabah Tenpin Bowling Association president  Rozzainnysham Talip congratulated Miasara for the podium finish.

He also said the other players who had made it to the grand final put in a very good performance.

“Although our players had a good average game, players from other states performed better during the competition.

“I hope they will keep practising and come back better in the coming tournaments,” he said.

He praised all the officials including team managers Chin Mui Ken, Siti Nurafiqah and coaches Steven Lok and Sheridan for their hard work as well as Sabah Sports Council and the parents for their support.
