BANGKOK: Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) took centre stage at the International Congress and Conventions Association (ICCA) Conference 2023, here.

SICC Chief Executive Officer Datuk Rosmawati Lasuki said they actively engaged with the ICCA to stay at the forefront of the latest trends, industry insights and the future trajectory of business events worldwide.

“Participating in ICCA Bangkok 2023 was a strategic move for us,” she said in a statement, Wednesday.

“It not only allowed us to showcase the capabilities of SICC but also provided a platform to learn from global experts and leaders in the business events industry.

“We believe that by staying connected with the international community, we can elevate the standards of business events in Sabah and contribute to the growth of our region.”

She said the engagement with ICCA is not just about acquiring knowledge but also a proactive step towards positioning Sabah as a preferred destination for international conferences and conventions.

“As we look forward to the home-grown business events forum in Sabah next year, the insights gained from ICCA Bangkok 2023 will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping the success of this event and positioning Sabah as a key player in the global business events landscape.”

SICC, she said, aims to transform itself and Sabah into a sought-after destination for conferences, conventions and exhibitions, contributing significantly to the local economy and the State’s growth.

“The ripple effect of this strategic move is expected to resonate not only locally but on the international stage, solidifying Sabah’s position as a global business events powerhouse,” she said.
