‘Sabah never belonged to Sulu’
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah never belonged to Sulu. The weight of evidence, treaties, documents and history prove that Sabah was ceded by Brunei to Overbeck (1877) - British North Borneo Chartered Company (1881) - surrendered to Japanese Occupation (1943) - British Military Administration (1945) - Bitish Colony (1946) – Malaysia (1963).

Therefore, Malaysia and the people of Sabah must aggressively, consistently and continuously continue to correct the incomplete and mistaken narrative that Sabah used to belong to Sulu.

Stressing this at the “Philippine/Sulu Claim To Sabah” online meeting Monday, former Chief Minister Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee said:
