Kota Kinabalu: The Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) is awaiting necessary funds to remove the soil piled up along the perimeter of the Likas lagoon (pic) following public concern that flash floods in surrounding areas will worsen if ignored.
A DID spokeswoman said the earth was sediment dredged up as part of the agency’s routine maintenance. She said DID had future plans to increase the capacity of the lagoon
(pic).
