Kota Kinabalu: The Department of Statistics Malaysia said only 4.7 per cent of Sabah’s population or 182,000 people has been counted online (e-Census) as of Oct. 11.“The number is far from the estimated population of Sabah issued by the Department which estimates 3.9 million people,” said its Sabah Director, Zainol Jamil, in a statement, Monday. He said 54,329 households have registered for the e-Census but only 42,537 households or 78.3 per cent have completed it.
He said the Department has taken action to adjust the implementation of the Malaysian Population and Housing Census (Census 2020) as stated in a media statement by the Economy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department on Oct 5.
