Ranau: Over 1,000 people thronged the Dewan Masyarakat Ranau on Saturday for the Program Himpunan Usahawan 2018 which highlighted a Toyota Rav4 as the grand prize for its lucky draw event.Officiating the event, Ranau MP Jonathan Yasin said, it's important to note that the main organiser Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) brought changes to the fate of women entrpreneurs here.

"I would like to congratulate the Sahabat AIM Entrepreneur Club of Ranau and Kundasang branches or better known as Kusair and Kusick for having successfully organised the Entrepreneurship Programme this time around.

"This programme is so meaningful not only for club members but also for people in Ranau and Kundasang. From the historical point of view we can see the region showing many women entrepreneurs especially in the tamu and stalls.

"This shows that these women have a distinctive role in driving our economy. Therefore, it is very appropriate we value the women today who are the economic heart of this area," he said.

Jonathan who is also the Chairman of the Malaysian Cocoa Board said, such programme will also become the most suitable platform for local female entrepreneurs who have been successful to share their experience with other club members.

"I am positive that the Kusick and Kusair's aspirations to empower women are reasonable and can succeed with proper and organised work. As leader here, I will continue to support all community development activities in this area," he said.

In the event Jonathan presented the 2018 Entreprener Award (Kundasang) to Japidah Pinsin@Haidin, Rosnani Muhailin, Jalihah@Siti Zaliha Daimin, Juuini Sabut and Rahmah Jaya, as well as the 2018 Entreprener Award (Ranau) to Rutinah Esun, Siti Dini Zainin, Yusenra@Nenra Jahamin, Nurul Alwani Ahidi and Supiah Ubang.
