BWF mulls initiatives to improve badminton

Kuala Lumpur: The Badminton World Federation (BWF) Council is proposing a few initiatives during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in May to ensure the sport remains competitive in the cutting-edge sports-entertainment industry.Among the initiatives set to be discussed during the meeting which would be held in Bangkok, Thailand are to enhance the scoring system of five to 11 points, a reduction in on-court coaching and also a service-law change to introduce a fixed height for serves during the match in any tournament.BWF President, Poul-Erik Hoyer Larsen stressed that it is important for the world governing body not to rest on its laurels on its current initiatives but move forward by making further improvement in the sports.
