Johor: The 11-year-old boy whose legs were amputated is now starting to show blood clots on his left shoulder.According to the boy's aunt Nurul Nabila Ahmad, 30, the boy's left shoulder was showing signs of blood clots at 6pm Sunday.

When met at the Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) here on Monday, she said the doctor had given her nephew some blood thinning medication on Sunday.

It was reported that the boy's right arm was slowly returning to its natural colour after it had turned black due to a bacterial infection.

She also said that tests have been conducted on his right arm, which was infected from his elbow to his fingers.

However, the medication given to treat the arm needs 48 hours to fully take effect and its efficacy will only be known by 6am Tuesday.

It was reported that the boy had allegedly been abused by an assistant warden at a private religious school located in Kampung Lukut, Kota Tinggi here.

The child, the third among five siblings, developed a fever as bruises and swelling started to appear on his legs due to infection.

Doctors had to amputate his legs to save his life. His kidneys were also affected by the illness.
