Kota Kinabalu: Black Sunday 6 organisers are going ahead with the peaceful rally to demand answers from the Government regarding pertinent issues affecting the people of Sabah. The rally will be held at Taman Chong Thien Vun at 9.30am on March 26 (Sunday).

The issues which will be highlighted concern the outcome of the results of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on illegal immigrants in Sabah as well as the Water Department scandal.

Its Organising Chairman Dexter Chin (pic), in a statement on Friday, said these issues need serious attention as the Government seemed to be quiet despite the issues plaguing the people of Sabah for many decades.

"The people want to know the results on the outcome of the RCI on illegal immigrant issues in Sabah.

There has been no news on what has become of the RCI results on illegal immigrants in Sabah, which is also closely related to the Project IC, an alleged systematic granting of citizenship to foreigners," he said.

He said it was brought to Sorak Sabah (the organisers of Black Sunday 6) or Solidarity Rakyat's understanding that the report has been handed over to the main Technical Committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi by the State Committee headed by Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

"It has been delayed many times and the answers appear to have disappeared from the people's knowledge.

What happened to the report?" he questioned.

Chin said Sorak Sabah also demands Pairin to be more responsible towards the people of Sabah and to reveal the truth behind the report before retiring.

"Has the Technical Committee finalised the report or has the issue been put under the carpet?" he questioned.

Sorak Sabah believes that the electoral rolls is yet to be clean from the Project IC issue and that it would be used in the next state election which is expected to be held soon.

They also urged the Election Commission to make sure there are no doubtful voters listed in the electoral rolls.

They cited the disclosure made by the then Eastern Sabah Security Command Commander Datuk Abdul Rashid Harun in 2015 that approximately 1.4 million illegal immigrants are in Sabah.

"The 2010 census statistics indicated that there are about 889,799 illegal immigrants in Sabah, and that the figure increased to 501,201 or 57 per cent over the past five years.

"Apart from the illegal immigrants, Bumiputera recorded 659,865, a 20.56 per cent increase, overtaking the largest ethnic community Kadazandusun at 17.82 per cent.

"The booming population is significantly high and it is not correlated with the mortality rate deaths of 4.4 for 1,000 live births targeted in 2015 as reported by the Director of Health.

"The demographic and increase of population by the illegal immigrants has been the issue for many decades now.

"This reverse takeover with the extreme population of Sabah will soon materialise if the Government has no political will to solve the problem," he said.

He said Sorak Sabah will also highlight the scandal involving the Water Department and millions of monies by corrupt civil servants. "Three of those involved were charged in court but what about the rest involving the department. What happened to the investigation?

"We in Sorak Sabah are perplexed over the fact that the three were charged with money laundering instead of corruption.

"Where is the millions of monies seized being kept and will the money be used for the election machinery," he questioned.

"Sorak Sabah and the people urge and demand an answer from the authorities and the Government to reveal the truth and solution on what is going on with the issue.
