KENINGAU: The launch of the ‘Komuniti Navigator’ book received an encouraging response from local government agencies and community leaders, held recently here.
‘Komuniti Navigator’, authored by Dr Muhd Shafeiq Muhammad Asri, focuses on developing self-potential among SPM graduates and rural youth in Sabah, particularly those facing challenges in determining their education and career pathways.
The book is also produced in line with his background as a Family Medicine Lecturer at University Malaysia Sabah (UMS), as well as his experience in implementing community programs in rural areas.
Among those present were Keningau District Broadcasting Station (RTM) Manager Florence John Luan, Assistant District Education Officer Catherine Kindasan, Sabah State Library Keningau Branch Head Mohd Noor Rizal Glen, Assistant District Officer Christine Tiffany Charlse Lohindun and Senior Assistant for Administration at SMK Gunsanad II Keningau Noormah Tahir.
The event was further enlivened by the presence of Datuk Seri Shuib Nasir, a successful businessman, who shared insights on career pathways in entrepreneurship. His sharing provided valuable exposure to SPM graduates and youth attendees.
The launch of the ‘Komuniti Navigator’ book also opened opportunities for strategic collaboration between the education, media, and community sectors in strengthening rural youth development in Sabah.
The presence of various stakeholders reflects strong support for this initiative, which is expected to expand through follow-up programs such as mentoring sessions, knowledge-sharing, and community activities to help the younger generation better prepare for future challenges.
