LABUAN: The Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce proposed that Labuan be treated as “special zone” headed by Minister with powers similar to that of a Chief Minister who can do away with stumbling decisions and policies which stunned growth and projected Labuan as failed Federal Territory.
Chamber chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii said having 90 over Federal agencies with some headed by a director means nothing if due to bureaucracy, cannot deliver results.

“Besides, decisions and policies applicable in peninsula may not fit in Labuan which needed a flexible approach” he said.
He noted that if Labuan was headed by CM-style leader he could overrule some of the Putrajaya decisions that if implemented would add to the woes of locals.
