PENAMPANG: Residents of Kg Tobihung 1, Maang, about 8km from Donggongon town, claim the Telekom line and internet services have been dead for three years ever since the copper line became obsolete.
“Cellphone signals are also bad because the village is surrounded by hills. In case of emergency, residents have to run to the highway to get any connection,” said spokesman Joanes Peter.

He said in September 2021, Telekom strung a fibre optic cable for Unifi up to the entrance of their village, but it was only one year ago that the box terminal was fixed.
“After that no connection was made to eight houses in the village though all have applied for the Unifi services.
