Kota Kinabalu: In a dramatic turn of events, 2023 Johor KDCA Unduk Ngadau Viru Nikah Terinisip has renounced her crown.
In a social media video, Viru Nikah, also known as “Duyung Darat”, on Monday, said she finally found the courage to do so but believed that this is not the end.

“I joined the Unduk Ngadau competition on my own will and returned this title without coercion. I respect my decision,” she said in the video.
“Accepting other people’s criticism and advice is remarkable, but accepting, listening, and making peace with yourself is beautiful.
