Ministry-KRT cook 15,000 bowls of bubur lambuk

KENINGAU: The Department of National Unity and National Integration (JPNIN) in Keningau and 87 Rukun Tertangga Areas (KRT) cooked 15,000 bowls of bubur lambuk as part of the “Rahmah Let’s Cook Lambuk Porridge” programme organised by the Ministry of National Unity in conjunction with the month of Ramadan.
The nationwide programme was held last Saturday in all KRT areas under the auspices of the district JPNIN.

Keningau actively participated in the programme, thanks to the efforts of KRT leaders and members.
Assistant Minister of Public Works Datuk Robert Tawik, who is also Bingkor Assemblyman, was present to support the event in Kampung Merampong.
Robert said this traditional event was observed every Ramadan and not limited to the Muslim community.
“It also involves the participation of non-Muslims from various races, particularly in the interior zone.”

He said such initiatives strengthen friendships among people during this holy month of Ramadan and are well-suited to Malaysia’s diverse racial and religious landscape, especially in Sabah.
Meanwhile, Upper Interior Zone Unity Officer Hilman Zack Usli thanked KRTs in the district for their cooperation.

He said the bubur lambuk was distributed to road users, mosques, and nearby suraus. He hoped the programme would be continued as it received the support from all KRT in the district.
