SIPITANG: Sabah Lundayeh Cultural Association (PLKS) will hold Irau Rayeh Lundayeh 2024 (IRLS 2024) for the 16th time on May 24-25.
Executive Chairman Nekelioes Kandrick Gugkang said IRLS 2024, themed “Preserving Culture, Creating Unity, Preserving Harmony”, will highlight culture and cultural symbols through traditional music performances, sales fairs, exhibitions and modern sports.

Nekelioes said PLKS also invited the Lundayeh/Lun Bawang community from neighbouring countries to participate. The Rurun Ulung and Padan Liu’ Burung (RU&PLB) competition will also be held.
Meanwhile, PLKS President Datuk Pengiran Lalung said IRLS 2024 aims to preserve the culture of the Lundayeh/Lun Bawang community, allowing both local residents and foreign tourists to understand and recognise the local culture of the country.
He said the event opens up business opportunities for local traders.
Furthermore, the festival is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Sipitang District Office and Sindumin Assemblyman Service Centre.

The opening ceremony is expected to be officiated by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor.
The public is invited to attend the celebration, which expects guests from Sarawak, Kalimantan (Indonesia) and Brunei.
