Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysian Tourism Federation (MTF) does not feel the revised increase in departure tax will significantly deter tourists from visiting the country.
“The overall increase of Passenger Service Charges (PSC) in departure tax is not significant enough to deter tourists, particularly from Asean, from visiting Malaysia,” MTF President Datuk Kok Liang said.

The Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) announced revisions to the passenger service charges (PSC) for the First Regulatory Period (RP1), spanning from June 1, 2024 to Dec 31, 2026.
The commission is maintaining the domestic departure PSC at RM11 at all airports except Senai International Airport.
