Kota Kinabalu: Health clinics in rural and remote areas in Sabah should be open 24 hours for emergency cases since referral hospitals are too far away.
This is common situation that can be seen at the Telupid Health Clinic which is located 204km from the State Capital.

Telupid Health Clinic’s Family physician Dr Woweham Sindeh said such situation is a challenge and a common complaint among young doctors when they are assigned to rural clinics.
He said the nearest hospital is Hospital Duchess of Kent (HDOK), Sandakan which takes about two hours 30 minutes from Telupid.
