Kota Kinabalu: The relocation of Rampayan villagers impacted by the RM36 million Sungai Rampayan Flood Mitigation project is hoped to be resolved once and for all this year with the intervention of native customary leaders in the district.

The impacted villagers from Kg Sendara, Kg Rampayan Laut and Kg Tobur were supposed to be relocated to Kg Selamat and Kg Bahagia, which are both part of Rampayan Manggatal and whose land gazette was approved on January 6, 2020.
ADVERTISEMENT However, their relocation was delayed due to several issues, among which are the appointment of village chiefs for both localities, the right of way and the existence of illegal immigrants on the land.
