UMS, Unimas appointed to conduct price stabilisation study
Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said both universities will carry out the specific study to identify the cause of the price gap of goods between Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan and Peninsular Malaysia.
PAPAR: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) have been appointed to carry out a six-month vital study on Price Stabilization of Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, as a long-term measure to stabilise the prices of selected essential goods.

Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said both universities will carry out the specific study to identify the cause of the price gap of goods between Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan and Peninsular Malaysia.

He said the findings of the study will also be extended to the State Governments of Sabah and Sarawak as well as the Federal Territories Development Department.

He said this is important taking into account the price issue directly related to food security as well as domestic and imported supply sources.
