Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) Chairperson Vivian Wong has warned of stern warnings and licence suspensions on bus operators who fail to adhere to the rules and regulations.

Her warning comes in response to claims by passengers travelling long-distance by bus from Tawau to Sandakan, who had to endure a journey of more than six hours in an overloaded bus.

“Our stern stance on this issue emphasises the importance of ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers travelling by bus.

“The Road Transport Department is the authority on the issue of overloading, including issuing compounds and taking violators to court.
